Committees and Delegations

Members
Luisa Regimenti (EPP, IT) joins the Environment, Public Health and Food Safety Committee (ENVI).

Substitutes
Christian Sagartz (EPP, AT) leaves the Legal Affairs Committee (JURI).
Maria Skypraki (EPP, EL) moves from member to substitute on the Environment, Public Health and Food Safety Committee (ENVI).
Stelios Kympouropoulos (EPP, EL) leaves the Environment, Public Health and Food Safety Committee (ENVI).
Sabrina Pignedoli (NI, IT) joins the Legal Affairs Committee (JURI).

European Commission

Directorates-General and Services

Agriculture and Rural Development (AGRI)
Agata Galinska replaces John Bedford as head of unit A2 (World Trade Organisation (WTO)) in an acting capacity.
Bence Major replaces Bruno Chauvin as head of unit D2 (Greening, cross-compliance and POSEI) in an acting capacity.

Communications Networks, Content & Technology (CNECT)
Cécile Huet replaces Juha Heikkilä as head of unit A1 (Robotics and Artificial Intelligence Innovation and Excellence) in an acting capacity.
Juha Heikkilä becomes adviser for artificial intelligence.

Maritime Affairs and Fisheries (MARE)
Fabrizio Donatella (IT) has been appointed as director of the Directorate "Fisheries Policy Atlantic, North Sea, Baltic and Outermost Regions”. Donatella has nearly three decades of experience at the Commission during which he has obtained a thorough knowledge of maritime affairs, trade policy and international cooperation in particular. He is currently Chief Negotiator for the fisheries agreements between the EU and the coastal states in the North Atlantic, the Baltic, the North Sea and the Skagerrak area while also having the role of Head of the EU Delegation to the North East Atlantic Fisheries Commission.

Bulgaria
Party of former prime minister Boyko Borissov, GERB (EPP), received less than a quarter of votes at Sunday’s snap parliamentary elections losing out to ‘There Is Such a People’. However, ‘There Is Such a People’ did not receive enough votes for a majority.
