Ioannis Lagos (NI, GR) leaves the Budgets Committee (BUDG).
Fulvio Martusciello (EPP, IT) leaves the Economic and Monetary Affairs Committee (ECON).
Cristian Terheş (ECR, RO) leaves the India Delegation (D-IN).
MEP Francesca Donato (ID, IT) has left Matteo Salvini’s far-right Lega party due to the party’s stance on COVID measures in the country, including the mandatory health pass for workers. However, she will remain a member of the Identity and Democracy Group in Parliament.
Cabinet of Adina Vălean
Rachel Smit is now a member of cabinet responsible for aviation policy and transport security. She was previously the cabinet expert/communications adviser covering Roxana Lesovici who was on maternity leave.
Cabinet of Margrethe Vestager
Iwona Piorko Bermig is no longer a member of cabinet as she is the new is the new head of delegation to Singapore.

Employment, Social Affairs and Inclusion (EMPL)
Maria Iglesia Gomez replaces Emma Toledano Laredo as head of C4 (Spain, Malta).
Thomas Verheye is no longer the principal advisor for Green Finance and Investments.
Vita Jukne replaces Robert Konrad as head of unit E4 (Compliance and Better Regulation).
Migration and Home Affairs (HOME)
Henrik Nielsen replaces Johannes Luchner as director of directorate A (International and Horizontal Affairs) who had been covering the role in an acting capacity. Cecilia Verkleij takes over Nielsen’s previous position, head of unit C3 (Asylum) in an acting capacity.
Office for the Administration and Payment of Individual Entitlements (PMO)
Julio Garulo Rodriguez replaces Cezary Proficz as head of unit 8 (Strategic IT Coordination) who had been covering the role in an acting capacity.
Statistical Authority of the European Union (ESTAT)
Aura Leulescu replaces Jean-Louis Mercy as head of unit F1 (Social indicators: Methodology and development; Relations with users) in an acting capacity.
Helena König is the new Deputy Director-General (Directorates B and C).
Maria Martin-Prat is the new Director of Directorate B (Asia (I), Services and Digital Trade, Investment and Intellectual Property) after leaving her position as Deputy Director-General (Directorates D and E).
Leopoldo Rubinacci is now the Director of Directorate G (Trade Defence) after leaving his position as Director of Directorate R (Resources, Inter-Institutional Relations, Communications and Civil Society) and has been replaced by Peter Sandler who is no longer Director of Directorate F (Enforcement, Market Access, SMEs, Legal Affairs, Technology and Security).
Myrto Zambarta is the new head of unit A1 (Multilateral affairs and WTO).
Edouard Bourcieu is no longer head of unit A3 (Chief Economist, Trade Analysis and Evaluation).
Cristina Miranda Gozalvez is no longer head of unit C1 (African, Caribbean and Pacific, Overseas Countries and Territories).
Colin Brown is no longer head of unit F3 (Legal Aspects of Trade and Sustainable Development and Investment).

European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA)
Verena Ross, former executive director, has been selected by European Union member states to chair the European Securities and Markets Authority. She will replace Steven Maijoor who stepped down in May.

The biggest vote in Europe this year will take place on Sunday. All eyes are on the German Parliamentary election with the European Union’s longest serving head of Government Angela Merkel stepping down. Polls indicate voters are still undecided and have recently suggested that for the first time in a decade the centre-left SPD (S&D) has a lead over the Christian Democrats (EPP). Christian Democrat Armin Laschet, SPD Olaf Scholz and the Greens’ Annalena Baerbock are the main runners to become the new Chancellor.
