The team behind the political satire television series Parlement has put out a call for extras for the show’s third season. Filming will take place in the Berlaymont building from 22 to 26 November, and those selected will be paid for their time.

In an effort to remain as faithful as possible to the character and atmosphere of the European Union institutions, the show’s creators are on the lookout for Eurocrats who currently work for the EU and want to make their television debut.

“Having real EU civil servants on the show gives it a real feel of authenticity – also, it’s fun to see yourself on TV,” said Maxime Calligaro, one of the show’s writers and a former parliamentary assistant.

Filming takes place at various times throughout the day. Those interested should email sophie.halperin01@gmail.com to express an interest.

The show, created by French screenwriter Noé Debré, has been a hit ever since it first aired on france.tv in 2020. In mid-November, the second season was named the “Best 26’ Series” for 2022 by the French Association of Series Critics.

The adventures of parliamentary assistants Samy, Torsten and Rose uncover the inner workings of the European Parliament in a tongue-in-cheek manner. Season three will be partially filmed in the European Commission’s headquarters, raising the prospect of a peek inside the drama of interinstitutional relations.
