Outgoing MEPs include, Hans Jansen (NI, NL) who passed away on 5 May.

Pirkko Ruohonen-Lerner (ECR, FI) has joined the European parliament to replace outgoing MEP Sampo Terho.

In committee news, Nicola Danti (S&D, IT) has become the fourth vice-chair of the internal market and consumer protection committee (IMCO), replacing Sergio Gaetano Cofferati (S&D, IT).

Pavel Telička (ALDE, CZ) has joined the delegation for relations with the United States (D-US).

In parliament's Europe of Freedom and Direct Democracy Group (EFDD), Ignazio Corrao (IT) has switched from vice-chair to member.

The European Conservatives and Reformists (ECR) launched  a new policy group on subsidiarity and localism. 

There were also big changes in two national parties, Jean-Marie Le Pen (NI, FR) has been suspended from Front National, while Nigel Farage (EFDD, UK) has stood down as leader of UKIP after failing in his bid to become a British MP.

And finally, the list of members in the working group against the interference of the tobacco industry has been made public and includes the following:

• Fabio Massimo Castaldo (EFDD, IT)
