The European Commission has today (July 18) published a proposal for a Directive of the European Parliament and of the Council facilitating cross-border exchange of information on road safety related traffic offences.

Please also see the annexes.

This proposal follows a European Court of Justice (ECJ) ruling in May which found that the existing legislation on this issue was adopted on an incorrect legal basis (see more details of the case here).
