Cameron plans ‘choreographed’ row with French for EU campaign - report

David Cameron will orchestrate a row with the French government to present his EU renegotiations as a “win” for the UK, a former Tory minister has allegedly said.

Former Health Secretary Andrew Lansley has reportedly claimed an argument will be “choreographed” between the Government and French officials to take place after next February’s European Council meeting, a source told the Sunday Times.

Mr Lansley also told business heads last week the referendum on Britain’s membership of the bloc is planned for September next year.

A senior Conservative party source told the Times: “Andrew Lansley is not part of the Government.”
