Prime Minister Bohuslav Sobotka announced on Tuesday that he will hand his cabinet’s resignation in to the President of the Republic Milos Zeman later this week. The move comes amid a row with finance minister Andrej Babis. The current coalition government is comprised of the Social Democratic Party (ČSSD), the ANO 2011, which is led by Babis, and the Christian and Democratic Union – Czechoslovak People's Party (KDU–ČSL). The parliamentary elections were initially scheduled to be held in October.
