Advertising boss says Brexit would be 'a bloody disaster'

The head of one of the world's largest advertising and marketing firms has warned that Britain leaving the EU would be a "bloody disaster" for the continent.

Maurice Levy, the chief executive and chairman of the Publicis Group, said the "real mistake" had been when the EU enlarged to include former eastern bloc countries, rather than deepening the ties between existing member states.

"It will be a bloody disaster if the UK leaves Europe...I am afraid a UK exit will diminish Europe and that is my fear," he told a panel discussion in the Austrian city of Salzburg.
