The Parliament Magazine – the magazine and website written exclusively for EU policymakers – seeks a reporter to join its editorial team.

The role includes:

  • Writing news, analysis and features
  • Covering events and press briefings
  • Interviewing EU policymakers
  • Sub-editing and publishing online and print content
  • Driving social media engagement
  • Building contacts within the EU institutions

The successful candidate will:

  • Write clear, concise, accurate and eye-catching copy
  • Have strong copy editing and social media skills
  • Be English mother tongue or have a thorough command of written and spoken English

Experience of reporting on EU policymaking is an advantage but not essential.

Office Co-Ordinator/HR Officer, Dods | Location: Brussels (Part-time)

Dods is the leading provider of fast and accurate information about developments in EU affairs. We provide tailored political intelligence and analysis to the EU public affairs community.

Dods is seeking an Office Co-Ordinator/HR Officer to provide HR, payroll administration and facilities support to all employees in Brussels and the day-to-day running of the Brussels office.

The role includes:

Human Resources and Administration:

  • Management of personnel files;
  • Preparation of Belgian contracts of employment and termination agreements for employees and interns (terms and conditions);
  • Prepration of HR forms (approvals, onboarding, offboarding……)
  • Policies and Work Rules;
  • Administration of holiday entitlements;
  • Administration of the Hospitalisation and Pension Plans;

Payroll Administration:

  • Main contact with Dods Social Secretary;
  • Dimona;
  • Updating changes (address/marital status…..);
  • Entering absences (vacation/sickness…..);
  • Entering salary and benefit changes;

Facilities and day-to-day office management:

  • Liaising with suppliers and contractors;
  • Ensure invoices and expenses are sent to London for payment.
  • Greet visitors;
  • Office tidyness;
  • Organisation of Christmas dinner and other office events.


  • Travel and accommodation reservations;
  • Orders new European Parliament badges, as well as the renewals and cancellations.

The successful candidate will ideally have:

  • English mother tongue or thorough command of written and spoken English, Dutch and/or French (oral and written).
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • An impeccable level of confidentiality.
  • Good knowledge of Belgian Labour Law and practices.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).

Starting date:  mid/end-May 2021
