Vaping: part of the solution for Europe’s Beating Cancer Plan?

An online event brought to you by World Vapers' Alliance.

The potential benefits of vaping have been hotly contested since the first e-cigarette entered the market. The potential benefits and risks see individuals, health advocates and even health authorities divided, with some viewing it as a great innovation to reduce smoking rates and smoking related illnesses and others seeing it as a major risk and potentially a gateway to smoking.

During this event, speakers will discuss whether vaping is less harmful than smoking and whether or not it helps smokers to quit, in addition to whether we are in danger of creating a new wave of young smokers due to vaping. Speakers will also discuss EU plans around vaping including Europe’s Beating Cancer Plan and the revision of the Tobacco Products Directive.

The event is hosted by MEP Pietro Fiocchi and moderated by Dave Keating. Speakers include:

  • MEP Maria Spyraki, a member of the European Parliament's Environment, Public Health and Food Safety Committee, the Industry, Research and Energy Committee and the Special Committee on Beating Cancer
  • Clive Bates, Director at Counterfactual
  • Michael Landl, Director at the World Vapers’ Alliance

The webinar will be shown using Glisser, via Zoom. We recommend using Google Chrome to watch the webinar. Please note Internet Explorer is not supported.
