The Coronavirus crisis has had a significant impact on Europe’s car manufacturing industry and the industry is looking to the EU to help fund its post-Covid recovery.
While car producers are major European employers and industrial innovators and considered crucial to Europe’s economic recovery, the sector is still saddled with the negative fallout associated with the so-called Dieselgate scandal.
So is it now time to find closure on this issue and agree a compromise between environmentalists, patients, car owners and the car industry on the ongoing Dieselgate legal case?
European Commission Vice-President for Interinstitutional Relations and Foresight Maroš Šefčovič will deliver a key address on the issue
Vice-Chair of the European Parliament’s Transport Committee István Újhélyi (HU, S&D) will host the webinar.
Deutsche Umwelthilfe, Car Claim Foundation and the European Public Health Alliance will provide their compromise-oriented views aimed at serving justice and saving money and time –to the benefit of the car industry. ACEA (car producers association) Director General Eric-Mark Huitema has been invited to react.
